What is the "Solution"?

If you are a recent college graduate or have ever attempted to take college courses, most of you have experience trying to pay for college. Most of us have at one point or another have thought about taking out student loans with the assumption that once we complete college, we would live the "American Dream" - a well paying job in the industry we went to college for, buy a new house, buy a new car and live happily ever after! Oh and I forgot to mention, paying off those annoying student loans. Well, today, is a new era that many young people are living and it's not for the better and definitely not for the "American Dream" anymore. It's simply trying to pay off those student loans and live debt free. But you see, student loans are impossible to get rid of unless you have the means to pay them off or you die and then it moves to the next person in line to pay for them - your family/co-signer.

With this economy, it is nearly impossible to think that "one day I will get rid of my student loans and live debt free". No jobs, no loans from the banks, no government help, nothing to help the "well-educated" out there.
It's a catch 22!

Here's a story for you. Because I have now well over $100k in student loan debt (the supposedly good debt), I can barely support myself. More than a 1/3 of my income goes to paying back student loans, another 1/3 to my rent and the last bit that I do have, well you can figure that out. I am living off of credit cards that are now maxed out. I have applied for personal loans and new credit cards in order to pay off student loans and other debt, but my outstanding overall balance is too high with a good credit score so I am stuck. My income is already 20% cut. I have been looking for a second job, but with no jobs out there and so many unemployed, competition is high while moral is low. What are we suppose to do? I am trying to be as patient as I can but life goes on and still no solution. What's the point of getting an education if your education will put you in the poor house?

This is why I have created this blog. I want a solution or two or three to this enormous problem that America has created. I am looking to brainstorm ideas on how to solve this problem

Here are a few thoughts that I have:

1. The Government needs to bailout student loans just like they did for the banks.
2. People who do have money, stop wasting it on stupid things like cars and give to charity and to people with student loan. These are the people who you will make a difference in their lives. Give to the educational system.
3. Volunteering services in exchange for student loan money to pay down student loan debt!
4. Give to the "After College" Scholarship foundation in order to help those with a high percentage of student loans debt to pay down the debt.

The State of California Educational System vs. Governor Jerry Brown

I don't know if you all notice but the state of California's new Governor Jerry Brown is proposing to cut $1.4 billion dollars in the California educational system. $500 million cut from California State Universities, $500 million cut from University of California and $400 million cut from community colleges. Is he serious? Wow, the State of California really doesn't see education as valuable for the long run. It is the first thing that goes? What's next? No more jails? Before we know it, the State of California is going to be run by idiots and crime rate will increase as we don't have enough police offers on the streets. What a mess?

By having these budget cuts, means more student loans will be taken out. Students are already having trouble just trying to graduate today because of recent increases in tuition. The other downfall is that educational jobs such as faculty, administrative positions and other crucial positions will be cut. The student to faculty ratio will be disproportional and the quality of education will decrease.We are not progressing, we are digressing and going backwards in trying to find a solution to debt - student loan debt that is.
